Tribute to Graeme Le Saux
Former St. Paul's player Graeme Le Saux went on to experience a very successful professional career: -
1968: Graeme Le Saux was born in Jersey on October 17.
1987: Graeme Le Saux began his career in England with Chelsea back in 1987 after impressing at St Paul's FC, Jersey back on the island of his birth. December - Signs for Chelsea.
1988-89: Makes his league debut for Chelsea. Goes on to play 99 games for them and scores nine goals.
1993: Signed by Blackburn manager Kenny Dalglish for £650,000 in March.
1994: Makes his full England debut in 1-0 victory over Denmark at Wembley in March. Blackburn finish
runners-up to Manchester United in the Premiership.
1995: Makes 39 Premiership appearances and scores three times as Rovers win the title for the first time since 1914. December - Suffers horrific injury against Middlesbrough while making a challenge on Juninho. A broken tibia, dislocated ankle and ruptured tendons in his right leg sideline him for the rest of the season. Fails to recover in time to play in Euro '96.
1997: August - Chelsea pay Blackburn £5million to break their transfer record and bring him back to Stamford Bridge. October - Breaks his right elbow during match against Leicester.
1998: Helps Chelsea beat Middlesbrough 2-0 in League Cup final in March, and to European Cup Winners' Cup success against VfB Stuttgart in Stockholm in May.
2003: July 21 - Leaves Chelsea for Southampton as part of the Wayne Bridge transfer.
2005: April 30 - Netted first league goal for Saints in penultimate home game of Barclays Premiership campaign against Norwich City.
May 24 - After 36 England appearances and nearly 400 league games, announces retirement from the game at the age of 36.
